Always running around to go to the next big place and do the next big thing. They're openly welcoming to new faces and people, almost to a fault. But it's very surface level. Although they are open about basic parts of their life, everything else is distant and quiet and they prefer to keep it that way. They only open up about deeper stuff to those they've considered lifelong friends. If discussion even points towards something deeper they're quick to divert the topic to something new.Haru is obsessed with animals, usually having too many companions to take care of as a result and is often giving pets away.

Haru Khatayin was born Dagr Camoa and was of the Rava. They were the first child of Rhen, the tribe's herbalist. When their gender started became more apparent around their thirteenth nameday, their mother became a lot more distant and they ended up taken in by some of the men to learn the ways of the wards of the forest.Dagr never felt fully comfortable in their own skin and the gender roles of Viera society, though they never quite understood it as that specifically. They trained until they were twenty-eight summers, and upon failing their initial tests to become a full-fledged warder, started to consider whether or not this was their intended fate. It was on a hunt when they spotted an outsider to the Golmore. The man's clearly had no intention of going deeper inside, and simply passing along the outer edges. Dagr found himself following with intense curiosity, and it lead them to following them out of the Golmore before finally speaking with them.The Hyur's name was Gunnor Starborn, an arcanist with an incurable wanderlust, and he offered Dagr the chance to join their adventures instead of following their current path. A little worried about what their home would say if they went back after interacting with an outsider, and leaving them alive, they used it as an out and accepted their adventures.They chose the city name Haru, a name taken from a flower merchant that was the first person to greet them out of the jungle. And took on the last name Starborn in honor of their mentor. They traveled together for years, and were with each other during the 7th Umbral Calamity, though they were not in Eorzea.A few years after the calamity, Gunnor finally wanted to go back to his home in Vylbrand to see if his distant family and old friends were okay. As they were heading for Limsa Lominsa, the ship was attacked by Leviathan. And in the process Gunnor became enthralled. Having no choice, Haru ended up having to end their father figure's life to free him. Haru stayed away from Eorzea for a while after until they made up their mind to become an arcanist like Gunnor and traveled back. And thus did their true adventuring begin.Along the way Haru met several new companions and formed a Free Company called the Order of Operations. And ended up eternally bonding with a man named Aedion Sarious. Later on their partner ended up revealing more about themselves and chose to identify back with his Xaela tribe, the Khatayin. Haru chose to change their last name to reflect that as well.Haru did not completely drop the arts of the arcanist, but after enough time grieving chose to instead become a bard, using their skills from childhood to become an excellent marksman and a support to their team.During the events of the Final Days, Haru ended up permanently blind in their left eye. An injury from childhood that was eventually pushed beyond the limit. And this resulted in Haru being unable to bring out the full potential of their marksmanship anymore. They ended up falling into despair but picked themselves up and mastered the art of the Reaper. Haru had difficulty maintaining control against their voidsent they made a pact with. The voidsent, whose true name was Tynan, attempted several times to drive Haru to a point of despair so they could take over their body full time.This struggled resulted in Haru and Tynan's aether merging, not unlike those of the void. This began distorting Haru's physical features, most notably their blind eye darkening into a voidlike marker. This continued until the two fully merged into one being, with Haru winning over the most control.Haru, now being half voidsent, now has benefits and drawbacks. Haru can now draw from the void on their own, but at a cost of corrupting their aether further. Haru also has difficulty drawing aether from food, and often has to supplement by taking aether from other beings. But Haru still has their sweet tooth as long as they don't draw on too much of their energy.

Whether you are actually trustworthy, they won't know until they talk with you!Kidnapped for a random adventure: Haru's friends are busy for the day and they want to go to an exotic locale, but not alone. You just happen to be a friendly face in the area, and hey they're paying for the trip!Camping: It's far too out in the wilderness to get to an inn and it's getting late. You or Haru are setting up camp when the other asks to spend a night in good company.Notes: Haru's story is intentionally created to be flexible. With most people, they are the run of the mill adventurer with cool stories to tell.
